Privacy policy

This policy explains what Starline Readings collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Starline Readings is run by Geeta Ramchander, Yapral, Hyderabad, Telangana 500087, India. In this policy "we" means Starline Readings and Geeta.
What we collect
- Your contact details: your name, WhatsApp number and, if you give it, your email.
- Your birth details: date, time and place of birth, for chart readings.
- Your palm photos: both hands, from several angles, for palm readings. Indian law treats images of the hand as sensitive personal data, and so do we.
- Someone else's details: for a Compatibility reading, or when a parent books for a child, that person's name and birth details.
- Your messages: what you send us on WhatsApp or by email.
- Payment records: you pay by UPI from your own app. We receive the amount, the date, and the name and UPI ID your app shows us. We never see your bank account details or your UPI PIN.
- How you use the website: with your consent, through cookies and similar tools (see Cookies below).
Why we collect it
- To prepare your reading and send it to you.
- To answer your follow-up questions and messages about your booking.
- To take payment and keep the accounts that tax law requires.
- With your consent, to understand how the website is used and to measure our advertising.
We never sell your information. We never publish your photos, birth details or reading, or use them in our marketing, without your written consent.
Your consent
When you book, you agree to our using your details for your reading, and separately to our using your palm photos: on WhatsApp, by sending them after we ask; on the booking form, by ticking two boxes. Nothing is agreed for you. You can withdraw your consent at any time by message or email. If you withdraw it while a reading is in progress, we can't finish that reading.
If you share someone else's details, you confirm that they have agreed to it.
Who else handles it
We use a few services to run the website and the readings. Each only handles what it needs for its own part:

We will also share information if the law requires us to.
Where it is stored
Some of these services store data outside India. We choose providers that protect it to a standard at least as high as Indian law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep your details, photos and readings for 9 months after you book, then delete them. That way, if you come back for another reading or a follow-up, you don't have to send everything again.
You can ask us to delete your information at any time with one message or email, and we will do so within 30 days. Payment records are kept for as long as tax law requires.
How we protect it
Your booking details and photos are kept in a private account that only Geeta can open. If your data were ever exposed, we would tell you, and the authorities, as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- show you the information we hold about you;
- correct it or bring it up to date;
- delete it;
- stop using it, by withdrawing your consent;
- name someone to act for you if you are unable to.
You can also complain to us (see Grievance officer). If you live in the European Union or the UK, you also have the rights given by the GDPR, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
We don't take bookings from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian can book a reading for their child and give consent on the child's behalf.

We acknowledge every request within 48 hours and resolve it within one month.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you've already given us, we will tell you first.
